<Exhibition Outline>
The Dohyeon Kim solo exhibition, “MOMENT”, will be held from Tuesday, December 16 to Sunday, January 25, 2025.
Kim Dohyeon creates her glass works using the techniques of fusing and slumping, which involve heating and shaping glass in an electric kiln. Through applying heat to crushed glass, she embraces the delicate transformations and subtle fluctuations that naturally occur, layering them with her own thoughts and feelings to express them with honesty and sensitivity.
In this exhibition, Kim presents works that gather and preserve “moments” — fading memories, cherished recollections she hopes not to forget, and the quiet instances that linger unexpectedly in daily life — re-forming them in glass as new compositions. We warmly invite you to take this opportunity to view the exhibition.

<Artist’s Statement>
My creative practice begins with a desire to preserve the beautiful moments of everyday life that I never want to forget.
The moment I notice a small flower blooming by the roadside, or the moment someone’s warm words make my heart light up—such small, fleeting instances in daily life shape who I am today and give me the strength to live toward the future.
Yet in the flow of our busy modern lives, these moments of beauty are often overlooked, forgotten, or treated carelessly.
By gathering these precious fragments of memory one by one and reconstructing them through the medium of glass, I seek to reexamine the beauty of the everyday and rediscover the quiet gratitude of simply existing.
<Recommender’s Comment>
Her works capture the subtle sensations that quietly surface in everyday life, allowing them to breathe gently within the glass. By aligning the natural beauty of heat-driven transformations with her own thoughts and emotions, Kim elevates these elements into forms that touch the viewer’s memory with quiet resonance. We invite you to experience the gentle light held within the glass works created by Kim Dohyeon.
